We are here to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
We welcome everyone that is willing to do the same; everyone, regardless of religion, race, or culture.
Before anyone is accepted into this unit, they must attend a meet and greet with a SCOPE background check in hand (which you get at your local LVMPD or NLV or BCPD or HPD substation, just tell them that you need it for a job interview if they ask). No one is exempt from the check, (but we do not keep the document). This insures that no felons or sex offenders sneak into the unit to cause problems (we have families with young kids). Once you make it past the meet and greet (you are allowed 2 chances to attend, they are held once a month), you may be invited to attend a training day. That is when you decide (and us too) whether or not this is what you are looking for.
We do have a 90-day (3 meetings) probationary period for new recruits after you attend a meet and greet. You MUST attend a meet and greet in order to gain access to the group, if you do not attend when you receive an email, you will be denied membership. At any time anyone may be asked to not come back. In addition, we have a requirement that members attend at least 1 meeting a month to maintain membership in the unit, unless you make arrangements in advance with the commanding officer. If you cannot fulfill this commitment, you may be released from the unit without notice.
The militia is defined in the United States Code title 10 part 1 chapter 13. It states that the Militia of the United States "consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and under 45 years of age." We believe if you are an American citizen you already are the unorganized militia. Though, anyone can join the militia we do have suggested standards and requirements that we have for our members. We do ask you to be at least 18 years of age, have no felony convictions, do not engage in illegal activity, and are not affiliated with any type of hate groups.
We all have our opinions and we all have our beliefs. But, the militia is not the place to bring about conspiracies. So, If you feel that the United States Government attacked the World Trade Center on 9/11/01, or if you feel the NWO is taking over the world, this is maybe not the place for you. Please leave your conspiracies at the door! Understand that you are welcome, the conspiracies are not. We will train to handle any contingency and any disaster.
